Private Jet Destinations: Where Charter-A Flies Across the UK, Europe and Beyond

From a same-day return to Geneva to a fortnight in the Cyclades, our network covers the airports that matter — and the small Alpine and island strips most operators avoid.

For close to fifteen years, Charter-A has arranged private jet charter for high-net-worth travellers, corporates, sports teams and government clients across the UK, Europe and worldwide. The routes below are the ones we fly most often — but they are a starting point, not a limit. With access to thousands of aircraft worldwide, we can position a jet, turboprop or helicopter to almost any licensed airfield, often within a few hours’ notice.

This guide walks through our core destination network by region and by reason for travel — business hubs, the UK and Ireland, the Mediterranean in summer, and the Alps in winter — with a note on the aircraft that best suit each. You can also browse the full index on our destinations page, or skip straight to a tailored quote.

European business hubs

For corporate travellers, the value of flying privately is measured in recovered hours — early starts, multi-city days and same-day returns that no scheduled timetable allows. Our most-flown business route is private jet to Paris, where Le Bourget puts executives minutes from the city; close behind sit the German financial and industrial centres of FrankfurtMunichBerlin and Düsseldorf.

Switzerland’s banking and commodities corridor is served daily by jet hire to Geneva and Zurich, while northern Italy’s commercial capital is reached through Milan. The Benelux and Central European markets are covered by BrusselsLyonVienna, and Prague, with Istanbul bridging Europe and Asia. Further east, our route pages for WarsawKyiv and Moscow remain part of the wider network, subject to current routing and regulatory conditions.

UK & Ireland network

Much of our work never leaves British airspace. London CityBiggin HillLutonStanstedFarnborough and Southend form the capital’s ring of executive gateways, each chosen for proximity, slot availability or customs handling. Our home base near Oxford and the lesser-known strip at Turweston round out the south-east.

Across the regions we fly regularly to ManchesterBirminghamEast MidlandsLiverpoolLeedsNewcastleBristolBournemouthSouthamptonExeter and Newquay. North of the border, Edinburgh and Glasgow anchor the Scottish business and golf trade, while Cardiff serves Wales.

The Irish Sea and Channel Islands are a natural fit for private aviation, where ferries are slow and scheduled connections thin. We fly to Dublin, the Isle of Man, and across to Jersey and Guernsey — the latter pair often by efficient twin turboprop. For very short hops and city-centre transfers, our air taxi service frequently makes more sense than a jet.

France & the Riviera

The Côte d’Azur is the single busiest summer market in European private aviation, and private jet to Nice is our headline route into it — the gateway to Monaco, Antibes and Cap Ferrat. From there it is a short transfer, or a helicopter hop, to Cannes and St Tropez. Westward, MarseilleToulouse and Bordeaux open up Provence and the wine country, and Corsica sits within easy reach for a beach week. For a long lunch, the classic Channel run to Le Touquet remains a Charter-A favourite.

Spain, Portugal & the islands

Iberia gives our clients both city breaks and beach weeks. On the mainland we fly to MadridBarcelonaValenciaAlicanteMálagaSeville and Girona. Portugal is served by Lisbon and the Algarve hub of Faro.

The Balearics draw a heavy summer charter trade: Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca are among our most-requested August routes. For winter sun, the Canaries — TenerifeLanzarote and the wider Canary Islands — stay warm year-round and reward the longer sector with a midsize or super-midsize jet.

Italy

Italy rewards private travel more than almost anywhere, because the best of it lies away from the major hubs. RomeVenice and Naples cover the cultural triangle; Genoa and Turin open the north-west and the Ligurian coast. For islands and summer, we fly to Sardinia — Olbia and the Costa Smeralda — and to SicilyBergamo doubles as a value gateway to Milan and a feeder for the lakes and nearer Dolomites.

Greece & the Eastern Med

Greece is built for private aviation, with dozens of island strips that scheduled carriers serve only seasonally. Athens is the mainland hub and the staging point for yacht charters, while Mykonos and Crete headline the island network. Malta sits conveniently between Sicily and North Africa, serving as both a business and a leisure destination.

The Alps & ski season

Winter shifts the centre of gravity to the mountains. The classic approach is a jet into Geneva or Zurich followed by a road or helicopter transfer to resort — but the real advantage of chartering is access to the altiport network. We fly to Chambéry and Grenoble for the French Alps, InnsbruckSalzburg, and Graz for Austria, and the Swiss valley fields of BaselBernLugano, and Sion — the last of these the natural arrival point for Verbier, Crans-Montana, and Zermatt. LyonTurin and Bergamo all serve as secondary ski gateways. Many of these airfields carry weight, performance and crew-certification restrictions, which is precisely where an experienced broker earns its place.

Scandinavia

The Nordic capitals combine business travel with long-weekend appeal. We fly to StockholmCopenhagen and Helsinki — the latter two often paired with onward connections deeper into the region or across to the Baltic states.

Choosing the right aircraft for the route

The destination usually dictates the aircraft. Short UK and near-Europe hops — Jersey, Le Touquet, the Channel Islands — are flown most economically by turboprop or air taxi. City-pair business runs of two to three hours suit light and midsize jets. Longer sectors to the Canaries, Greece or the eastern Mediterranean call for super-midsize or heavy cabins with the range to fly direct and the comfort for a working or sleeping passenger. Restricted Alpine altiports demand specific aircraft and crew approvals.

Rather than work that out yourself, tell us the route, the dates and the number of passengers — and whether pets are travelling. We will recommend the right aircraft and give you a firm price. You can review indicative figures on our jet charter rates page, or see the full range of cabins in our private jet fleet.

Tell us where you’re heading. We’ll match the aircraft, handle the routing and the handling agents, and have you wheels-up — often the same day.
