About Our Service
Excellent service from Mark at Charter-A!
“We had such an amazing experience with Charter-A and Mark, who pulled out all the stops to organise a VERY last-minute trip to Cornwall for us and our little dog, Rosie! Our flight was first class. Everything ran seamlessly with Mark also arranging car transport to our destination to ensure we had a memorable day. Wonderfully arranged, we would not hesitate to fly with Mark and his team again.” – Helen

What factors affect the cost of a helicopter charter with Charter-A?
The main factors affecting helicopter charter cost are the aircraft type and capacity required, the distance and routing of the flight, the departure and destination locations and any associated landing fees, whether the helicopter needs to reposition from a base to your departure point, and the time of day or week. For popular routes with regular demand, Charter-A can often identify the most cost-effective option. For bespoke routes or unusual departure locations, we will assess all factors and provide a transparent breakdown in your quotation.
Is it possible to reduce helicopter charter costs through empty leg arrangements?
Does Charter-A charge extra for landing fees and ground handling at helicopter destinations?
Charter-A provides all-inclusive quotations that incorporate anticipated landing fees and ground handling at the planned destination. Where landing fees are variable - for example at certain private venues or where permissions are required - we confirm these before finalising the quotation. You will not receive a higher invoice than the price agreed at the time of booking for the specified routing. Any client-requested changes to the routing after booking may result in price adjustments which we will confirm before proceeding.
How does the cost of helicopter charter compare to first class rail or business class air travel for the same journey?
For a single traveller, helicopter charter will typically cost more than first class rail. For groups of three to five, helicopter charter can compare favourably when the time saving, door-to-door convenience, and exclusive use of the aircraft are factored in. On routes where helicopters offer a significant time advantage - such as Central London to Goodwood, which takes under 30 minutes by helicopter versus two hours by road - many clients find the cost premium represents excellent value relative to the time recovered.
