Istanbul Ataturk Airport is the main international airport serving Istanbul, Turkey and the biggest airport in Turkey by total number of passengers. Ataturk Airport was named after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of the Republic of Turkey. It is 15 miles (24 kilometres) west of the city centre. Although this is a busy international airport for commercial flights, it does provide an excellent service for private jets which is separate from the main terminals offer private jet clients VIP handling service.
However this airport will eventually close due to the Istanbul New Airport which is currently being built to accommodate flights to Istanbul. It is due to open in the Spring of 2018.
